Isaac Newton, English physicist
Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727), English physicist, mathematician and alchemist. As a mathematician Newton discovered the binomial theorem and developed differential and integral calculus. As a physicist he devised laws of motion, formulated the general theory of gravitation and wrote on optics. As an astronomer he invented the reflecting telescope. Newton wrote extensively on alchemy, and tried in vain to discover a philosophers stone which would convert common metals into gold. Newton also wrote extensively on biblical Creation and biblical prophecies

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the brilliant mind of Sir Isaac Newton, an iconic figure in the realm of science and mathematics. With his piercing gaze and distinguished appearance, Newton's image exudes a sense of intellectual prowess that is synonymous with his groundbreaking contributions to various fields. As a mathematician, Newton's discoveries were nothing short of revolutionary. He unraveled the mysteries of the binomial theorem and pioneered differential and integral calculus, laying the foundation for modern mathematical principles still used today. In physics, he formulated fundamental laws of motion that transformed our understanding of how objects move in space. His crowning achievement was formulating the general theory of gravitation, which explained why apples fall from trees and planets orbit around the sun. Beyond his scientific endeavors, Newton delved into other realms such as alchemy and astronomy. He invented the reflecting telescope, enabling astronomers to explore celestial bodies with unprecedented clarity. However, despite his immense intellect, he also pursued elusive quests like finding a philosopher's stone capable of transmuting base metals into gold. Newton's legacy extends beyond academia; he was deeply interested in biblical Creation and prophecies as well. This multifaceted genius left an indelible mark on history through his unwavering pursuit of knowledge across diverse disciplines. In this remarkable artwork capturing Newton's essence during 17th century Europe, we are reminded not only of his significant contributions but also his insatiable curiosity that forever changed our understanding of the world around us.
