Renowned for his skillful contributions to medicine, Virchow made groundbreaking discoveries in the field of pathology. He was the first to identify leukemia and meticulously described various other conditions such as thrombosis, embolism, and inflammations. During the 1850s, Virchow embraced Schwann and Schleiden's cell theory and ingeniously applied it to pathology. As the founder of cellular pathology, he firmly believed that diseases originated within cells. This vertical portrait showcases not only a significant figure in medical history but also highlights his pivotal role in advancing pathological research. The monochrome aesthetic adds a touch of nostalgia while emphasizing the era during which these remarkable achievements took place.
